Heat and humidity continue for another day on Friday with heat warnings in effect for Winnipeg, southern and east-central Manitoba and northwestern Ontario. Humidex values will feel around 40 this afternoon.
The greatest chance of severe thunderstorms developing this late this afternoon and evening is along the international border, possibly reaching the Steinbach, Sprague and southern Whiteshell regions.
A disturbance expected to come out of Oregon this evening and head northeast overnight and on Saturday could trigger severe thunderstorms across southern Manitoba tomorrow. That comes with the threat of even more heavy rain for the south including the southwest that was already deluged from storms earlier this week.
Daytime highs this first weekend of July and all of next week in Winnipeg will reach the upper 20s; Still very warm, but likely not enough to warrant continued heat warnings.
