Two very different weather patterns today in Manitoba!
In the south, it is very sunny and mild and will become very windy with strong and gusting south winds this afternoon. Those winds will help push daytime highs up above freezing.
In the north, snow will spread across most areas followed by a fresh blast of bitterly cold arctic air. Look for extreme cold warnings to go back in effect later today. Temperatures will drop down in the -30s overnight with wind chills that will feel as cold as the mid-minus 40s to low -50s.
Overnight, snow moves into Winnipeg and the southeast. The temperatures won't drop much below freezing before rising up above it again by morning.
We'll get a break from the snow for a few hours on Friday morning. Then as the snow resumes, a passing cold front will whip strong winds around from the north and send tempertures falling in the afternoon.
Saturday will suddenly feel colder (and actually will be!) with a high in the mid-minus teens. Temperatures will start to rebound on Sunday.
March comes in closer to a lamb than a lion with high on Monday not far below freezing.
