The 1st Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery unit is going through training of its forward air observers and controllers.
Nearly 100 soldiers from the 1 RCHA participated in a simulated battle at CFB Shilo on Tuesday.
The training is designed to teach soldiers on the ground how to support air attacks.
During the training, the soldiers direct aircrafts onto targets on the ground and go through the preparation and gun battery of howitzers supporting air attacks.
The 1 RCHA will stay in the combat zone, going through various training exercises for the rest of the week.
