Residents are still waiting for water to be reconnected to their homes after three water main breaks in Winnipeg this week.
There are affected pockets in The Maples, Elm Park and Charleswood.
The city said water mains are bursting at a rate of one to two per day during this extended cold snap.
The city has placed water trucks on streets where water to homes remains shut off.
“One of them froze up last night,” said Maples resident Lorne Brown, “This morning there were big lineups. There were even people fighting over the water.”
Some people have been without running water since Sunday.
The city said crews are working as fast as possible to restore service.
