A special change of command ceremony took place at the RCMP detachment in The Pas on Tuesday.
Staff Sgt. Jeremy Allard took over The Pas detachment, but it's who handed over the reins to him that makes the story special.
The previous Staff Sgt. is his father, Noel Allard.
It’s the first time a father has handed over command to his son in the modern history of the RCMP.
And it's a bit of a homecoming.
Jeremy first signed up to be a Mountie while living in the area, before being stationed in Saskatchewan.
