Winnipeg police have charged a third suspect in a gang-related shooting outside a downtown nightclub that killed a man, and injured two others.

On Thursday, police arrested 21-year-old Isaac Ndlovu. The Winnipeg man faces several charges including first degree murder and trafficking in firearms.

On May 4, 2014 police officers responded to a report of gun fire outside Opera Ultra Lounge near Main Street and Bannatyne Avenue.

Police said a group of men got into a confrontation on the street outside the nightclub around 2:00 a.m., when a man pulled out a gun and fired at the crowd.

One victim, 23-year-old Rustom Vito Paclipan of Winnipeg, died from his injuries.

Police later learned of two other victims, men aged 18 and 24, who were also shot during the incident. The men received non-life-threatening injuries.

All three people injured were among the group of people in the altercation, said police.

At a media briefing Friday, Winnipeg police would not comment on the internal investigation into a 911 call from the nightclub that was cancelled before the fatal shots were fired.

Winnipeg Police Chief Devon Clunis launched the investigation after it was discovered a 911 call was made at 1:39 a.m. the night of the shooting and entered into the system a few minutes later.

At 1:59 a.m., for reasons still unclear,  the call was cancelled from inside the control room.

Police responded within three minutes to the second 911 call reporting shots fired.

Two other suspects, 21-year-old Marcus James Richard and a 16-year-old male both of Winnipeg, were arrested in May.

No further arrests are expected. The investigation is still ongoing.
