Another Winnipegger is calling for clarity on city parking signs.
Jessie Scherbain said he got a ticket on a city street for parking too close to a crosswalk. But Scherbain said the sign posted where he parked was misleading.
The sign shows a green circle and an arrow pointing at where his car was parked.
Scherbain fought the ticket and got it thrown out, but still wants the sign moved.
“How fair is it to find a parking spot and park where the sign says you can park, and then you come out and you find out you're in violation of a rule when all you did was trust the sign?” Scherbain said.
"I think that sign should be moved three metres back. The whole thing kind of felt like a bait and switch, to be honest."
This comes after a Winnipeg woman called on the city to remove what she calls deceiving parking signs.
Rainie Barrett was ticketed in front of her own home twice after parking in two different locations. She said the parking signs were misleading, and wants them changed.
The City of Winnipeg said the signs Scherbain takes issue with only indicate the time allowed for parking. It said drivers still need to be aware of other rules like not parking too close to a crosswalk or within an intersection.
