Hundreds of parking tickets and thousands of vehicles were towed during the City of Winnipeg’s residential parking ban this weekend.
The city said it handed out 779 parking tickets during the ban, and 2,630 vehicles received courtesy tows – these vehicles were towed to another street that has already been cleared or that was not scheduled to be plowed.
Vehicles that were parked in violation of the snow route parking received a $150 ticket – $75 if paid early.
The city said more than 17,900 people have downloaded the Know Your Zone app.
The residential parking ban began Friday morning and was lifted Sunday evening.
