Federated Co-operatives, Ltd. is set to buy four Safeway stores in Winnipeg. Sobeys announced a deal to sell 30 stores in western Canada.
Federated Co-op will buy the Safeways on Main Street, Vermillion Road, Dakota Street and at Grant Park Mall.
The Competition Bureau ordered the move when Sobeys took over Canada Safeway last year. It expects to close the deals in March or early April.
Sobeys also sold Price Chopper to an unidentified buyer.
