Investigators say arson is the likely cause of the $1-million dollar fire at a construction site next to Winnipeg’s Children’s Hospital on March 5, 2013.

Police say the fire appears to have been deliberately set but they say there is no evidence to suggest an explosive device was used.

No arrests have been made.

The fire started in a wing of the hospital that is currently under construction.

Hospital officials say the fire will delay the opening of the hospital by several months.

The 7-storey building was scheduled to open next spring and will include a new pediatric MRI, new operating room and several other units.
