A 20-year-old man faces child pornography charges after videos were discovered during a computer fix at a Winnipeg repair shop.
Winnipeg police say on July 7, suspect brought his laptop to a computer repair business on Century Street. When technicians began running a restoration on the computer, child sexual abuse videos were observed.
Police were notified and launched an investigation. A search warrant was applied for and granted.
Officials say a review of the laptop revealed “numerous videos” of girls between the ages of three and seven-year-old engaging in “sexual abusive acts.”
On Wednesday, police found the suspect and placed him under arrest.
He faces changes of accessing and possessing child pornography.
He was released on a promise to appear. Police have not released the suspect's name.
