City report blames PST hike for water treatment plant going $2M over budget

The city says the hike in the provincial sales tax has put the South End Water Treatment plant expansion over budget for Winnipeg.

A report to the finance committee said the project will now cost $2.2 million more.

The expansion is scheduled to be complete by October 2016.

The PST went up from seven per cent to eight per cent last July.
