Canada turns 150 next year and celebrations are already underway.
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is marking the anniversary with special exhibitions, programs and family activities all year long.
Saturday marked 50 days until festivities begin, so the museum is honoured the milestone by turning the museum's Tower of Hope red.
The national symbol of celebration is also being marked at Toronto’s CN Tower, the parliament buildings in Ottawa and at Canada Place in Vancouver.
