A 51-year-old female cyclist is dead after colliding with a city transit bus Sunday evening, said Winnipeg police.
The crash happened just after 10:00 p.m. in the intersection of McGregor Street and Manitoba Avenue.
The cyclist had been heading eastbound in a back lane between Magnus and Manitoba. When she reached McGregor, she turned north into the southbound lanes and collided with the bus, said police.
The intersection was closed for close to four hours, but has since re-opened.
The cyclist was taken to hospital in critical condition and later died from injuries.
Police did not release her name.
Officers continue to investigate.
