Friends and community members in the RM of Tache are mourning the loss of Edgar Dart.

Dart was killed in the Bahamas on Tuesday during a robbery. He was 56 years old.

Dart sold feed at his farm in the RM of Tache. Customer Mary-Anne Bach said Dart was a good man, who would go out of his way to help people. Bach has been Dart's customer for a decade. She said she was horrified by the news of his death.

Bill Heather is a councillor with the RM of Tache, and a friend of Dart's. He said Dart was active in the community, often sponsoring local events.

Heather said Dart was a hard worker who wasn't afraid to speak his mind.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force is investigating Dart's death as a homicide.
