A Winnipeg city councillor has his sights set on Ottawa.
St. Boniface's Dan Vandal says he will go after the Liberal nomination in the area for the next federal election.
Vandal helped organize the area's local leadership campaign for Justin Trudeau.
It won't be an easy feat for the former boxer.
Conservative two-time incumbent for the area, Shelly Glover, now sits in the prime minister's cabinet
Vandal says if he wins the liberal nod he will step down as a councillor next year.
