Fire crews responded to a blaze at the Brady Landfill after a call came in around 5:00 a.m. Saturday.
The City of Winnipeg said fire crews will remain on scene throughout the day to manage any hot spots that remain.
According to the city, Manitoba Conservation has also been at the scene of the fire.
No injuries or property damage have been reported and the landfill remains open.
