Police have opened a homicide investigation into the death of a youth in the North End.

Emergency crews responded to a call about an injured male on the road near Dufferin Avenue and Salter Street around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday.

They found a 17-year-old male suffering from upper body injuries, and a second injured male, 18, in critical condition.

Paramedics rushed both to hospital, where the 17-year-old died from his injuries.

On Monday, April 21, the 18-year-old was upgraded to stable condition.

Police are conducting interviews. So far there is no information about how the youth died or about any suspects.
