A community in Manitoba’s Interlake region is holding a rally in front of its hospital Friday morning over fears the emergency room may be closing.

The community of Eriksdale, located along Highway 6, fears is may lose its emergency room and a lack of doctors is being blamed.

Community members are holding a rally at 10:30 a.m. Friday to talk about the impact it will have on the community.

They say travelling further for health care is exposing rural residents to a higher risk of death.
