Failed lead pipe leads to sinkhole on Sherburn Street

A failed lead pipe caused a sinkhole to form on Sherburn Street Sunday afternoon, the city has confirmed.

As a result, Sherburn Street is now closed at Portage Avenue and Wolever Avenue, a city spokesperson said. Portage Avenue itself is not affected.

The city anticipates the street will be repaired on Monday.
