Officers from multiple units carried out search warrants at three Winnipeg homes, seizing more than 1,200 marijuana plants and cash on July 30.

Police said the raids were conducted following a lengthy investigation into two people suspected of carrying out grow-ops at multiple homes.

During a raid in the first 100 block of Prairie Smoke Drive, north of Sage Creek Boulevard, police seized marijuana plants with an estimated value of $726,880.

In a raid at a home in the first 100 block of Breton Bay in Royalwood, officers seized marijuana with an estimated value of $646,240.

A search of in the 400 block of De La Seigneurie Boulevard in Island Lakes uncovered $3,700 in cash.

Police said a 53-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman face charges for production of a controlled substance, possessing a substance for the purposes of trafficking and possessing proceeds of crime.
