I have a peaceful moment on my hands so I though I'd take the opportunity to write a quick baby update.

Our little Anna Victoria arrived July 1, right on her due date.

Apparently the odds of a baby born on their actual due date aren't great, some estimate only five percent come on time. I was very surprised because I truly thought my little bundle was going to come early just like my first baby.

The fact that I made it to my due date shocked me. But that wasn't the biggest surprise of Anna's birth.

She may not have come early, but she did come into the world fast!

From the first sign that I was in labour to the minute she was born, it only took one hour and 20 minutes. Her delivery happened about 10 minutes after we arrived at the hospital, and we only made it there thanks to a ride by ambulance.

I know a lot of moms wish for a speedy delivery, but this was a little too fast for comfort.

But I'm happy to report that we're all doing great.

As for the adjustment of going from one to two kids, well, we're still figuring that out. My toddler is excited to have a baby around, even if she can't play with her yet.

I'd say we still have a while to go before we fully figure out what our new "normal" looks like, but we're rolling with things day by day and trying to sleep any chance we can.

I plan to share more about how things are going while I'm on maternity leave. I'll keep blogging when I can and I'll continue to share pictures on Twitter and Instagram, @NicoleDubeCTV and @nicoleddube.

Ok, back to baby Anna I go!
