WINNIPEG -- Connor Hellebuyck made 42 saves and Drew Stafford scored his first goal of the season Sunday afternoon as the Winnipeg Jets ended a five-game losing skid with a 3-0 victory over the Nashville Predators.
Mark Scheifele and Adam Lowry added empty-net goals for the Jets (10-12-2) while defenceman Jacob Trouba had two assists.
It was Hellebuyck's second shutout of the season and fourth of his career. The victory also extended Winnipeg's home victories to four straight.
Rookie goaltender Juuse Saros stopped 21-of-22 shots for the Predators (10-8-3).
The loss halted Nashville's win streak at three games. The Predators had defeated Winnipeg 5-1 Friday in Nashville with Hellebuyck in net.
Saros, a 21-year-old from Finland, was called up from Milwaukee of the American Hockey League and played his second game this season and third of his career.
Nashville outshot the Jets 11-4 in a scoreless first period. Both had power-play chances, but Winnipeg was 0 for 2 and the Preds 0 for 1.
Stafford, who missed 15 games with an injury this season, scored his first with a wraparound at 15:21 of the second period.
The Jets squeezed the shots-on-goal gap in the second and the Predators had a 22-17 advantage after two. Winnipeg came up empty on a third power-play opportunity.
Nashville went on the power play 48 seconds into the third period on Blake Wheeler's tripping penalty, but Hellebuyck turned aside six shots and his teammates blocked at least three more.
Winnipeg defenceman Mark Stuart was then sent off for four minutes after high sticking Colin Wilson in the face, but Hellebuyck again stopped six shots sent at him.
The Jets had their fourth power play with 4:36 left in regulation after Colin Smith tripped Trouba, but couldn't add another goal.
Scheifele scored his 12th goal of the season with 42 seconds left and Lowry got his sixth with 10 seconds remaining.
