Ontario Provincial Police in Kenora have found the body of a man in the Winnipeg River, after the canoe he was in with two women capsized on Sunday.

Police said they were told that a 27-year-old man was missing around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police learned the man and two women were in a canoe together when it capsized in an area that had a current.

The two women made it to shore and called for help, police said.

Police and civilian boats were used to search for the man. 

The OPP’s Underwater Search and Recovery Unit found the man, deceased on Monday. 

The man has been identified as Luc Baron of Kenora. 

None of the occupants were wearing life jackets. 

The investigation is continuing.
