For the fifth year, Liam is the most popular name for bouncing baby boys in Manitoba. The popular name tops the list of baby names in 2013 released to CTV News by Manitoba Vital Statistics.
On the girls side, Emma takes the top spot, closely followed by another “E” name, Emily.
The top 10 names for boys from last year are:

- Alexander, 64
- Benjamin, 64
- Carter, 63
- Jacob 62
The top 10 names for girls from last year are:
- Emma, 90
- Emily, 83
- Olivia, 69
- Sophia, 69
- Ava, 59
- Hannah, 51
- Chloe, 49
- Ella, 48
- Madison, 44
- Hailey, 42
Vital Statistics also said 8,233 girls and 8,721 boys were born in the province in 2013.
