Officers charged a woman with second-degree murder following the death of a man on April 30 in Winnipeg.

Officers previously called the death suspicious during the early stages of the investigation.

Police and emergency crews responded around 3:40 a.m. Wednesday to the 1300 block of Elgin Avenue West.

A man was found with injuries from a stabbing and was rushed to hospital in critical condition, where he later died.

Police identified the victim as Adrian Acoby, 25, of Winnipeg.

An investigation showed the victim had been involved in a domestic dispute.

The confrontation escalated and the victim was stabbed, said police.

Galena Flett, 20, of Winnipeg was located and arrested shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday and charged with second-degree murder, said police.

The homicide unit continues to investigate.
