Police are searching for two suspects after a man was stabbed outside his home in the North End Saturday morning.

Police said the 50-year-old victim was standing outside his residence in the 500 block of Redwood Avenue around 4:30 a.m. when two unknown men came up and asked him for a cigarette.

Police said the two suspects then assaulted the man, who was stabbed in the upper body. He was taken to hospital in unstable condition and was later upgraded to stable.

One suspect is described as 19 to 20 years old, five feet-10 inches (178 cm) tall, with a thin build and Aboriginal in appearance.

The other suspect is also described as 19 to 20 years old, five feet-eight inches (173 cm) or five feet-nine inches (175 cm) tall, with a muscular build and Aboriginal in appearance.
