According to people connected to the project, cracks that have appeared in the concourse of the new $200-million Investors Group Field do not pose a safety concern.
Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger said the cracking is minor and is not a safety risk.
Officials say it is the contractor for the project that will be on the hook for repairs and not the Winnipeg Blue Bombers football club.
The stadium hosts its first regular season CFL game next week.
“These minor issues need to be cleaned up, they will be cleaned up. But as long as the stadium is safe, and accessible and used by as many people as possible, it’s a good investment,” said Selinger.
The football club also says the cracks pose no structural concern.
