Shamattawa RCMP charged a man with second-degree murder after finding the body of a missing woman from the community.

Police said they received notice late on July 13 that the 37-year-old victim had gone missing. They determined that she was last seen on July 12.

Around noon on Thursday, July 14, police got word that a local fisherman had found a body in a nearby river. Police confirmed it was the missing woman.
