The city is set to begin its adult mosquito fogging program on Sunday.
Winnipeg’sInsect Control Branch announced Saturday that citywide average trap counts have caught 25 female mosquitos for two consecutive nights, and one or more quadrants of the city have trap counts of 100 mosquitos or higher.
Fogging will begin Sunday, July 7 and continue on a daily basis between 9:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. The city will announce which areas of the city will be fogged at least eight hours before fogging begins.
Weather permitting, the city will fog the following Insect Management Areas Sunday night:

Residents who don’t want the immediate area around their home fogged can request a buffer zone of 90 metres.
Although buffer zone requests usually take 72 hours to process, the city said it will attempt to process all in-person requests at 1539 Waverley St. between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
