Manitoba's premier says a provincial courthouse in St. Boniface will move to a new location in February.

Greg Selinger says the new location, in heart of the province's francophone community, will ensure the courthouse continues to hear matters in both official languages.

The new courts will be located within the Bilingual Service Centre, providing Court of Queen's Bench and provincial court services to the community.

Selinger says renovations are also planned in 2017 and 2018 to better support on-site alternatives to traditional court proceedings, including mediation services, administrative tribunals and restorative justice programs
