The Winnipeg Police Service is warning people to stay off the ice on all bodies of water.
Although it may look like the middle of winter, all waterways are considered unsafe because ice thickness is unpredictable now that the weather is warming.
The police are advising parents and guardians to remind children of the dangers of playing on the ice. The water flowing under the surface is very cold and fast-moving this time of year.
