“Game on.” Those were some of the parting words from Theresa Oswald as she signed her papers to run for the NDP leadership.
Oswald is the first candidate to officially enter the race. Premier Greg Selinger has not made it official but has said he will run at the party’s March convention to in an attempt to keep his job.
Oswald said the stakes are high in the next general election and she’s hoping to turn her party’s fortunes around.
The former health and jobs minister was one of six NDP MLA’s urging Selinger to resign over low polling numbers connected to the PST hike.
Oswald said she offers different styles and approaches to Selinger.
