HEADINGLEY, Man. - Three guards are accused of assaulting an inmate at a provincial jail outside Winnipeg.

RCMP say three Manitoba Corrections officers, including a supervisor, are charged with assault causing bodily harm.

Police say the 24-year-old man was allegedly assaulted last year at the Headingley Correctional Institution.

Guards Michael Haddad, Mark Svendsen and Michael Delorme, who are all from Winnipeg, are to appear in court Wednesday.

The victim, whose name has not been released, is also charged with aggravated assault.
