A spokesman for the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service says vandals set fire to five cars and a truck in Elmwood Wednesday morning.

Fires crews were called to the 300 block of Talbot Avenue just before 3 a.m.

Two cars, a truck, a garage and a fence were discovered on fire in the back lane.

While battling those fires, crews found two cars and a garbage bin on fire in the 300 block of William Newton Avenue.

There were no injuries.

Damage from the Talbot Avenue fires is estimated at $21,000 for the truck and contents of the garage. There is no estimate yet for the damage done to the cars.

Fire officials estimate approximately say $15,000 dollars damage was done to the two vehicles at the William Newton Avenue fire.
