A Winnipeg man is upset over a ticket he got for plugging in his truck in front of his house.

Paul Peters admits his extension cord went over the sidewalk and according to the city that is not allowed.

The ticket is for $50.

But Peters said he has to plug in his truck to make sure it starts in these cold temperatures.

The city says the bylaw is in place for safety reasons because extension cords are a tripping hazard and can impede plowing operations.
