Police blocked off a large area at a Winnipeg dog park Thursday after the discovery of an injured person.

Officers say they got a call to check on the well-being of a person in King's Park around 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

A witness tells CTV News the person was found near a wooded area of the off-leash dog park.

One person was taken to hospital and is alive, but there is no word on their condition.

Investigators are working to identify the patient.
