Jets fans have waited for nearly two decades for the whiteout to return and it’s finally here.
The Jets hosted the first playoff game in Winnipeg since 1996 on April 20.
"I was crying. I was crying when they left, wasn't fun,” said Jets fan Eric Radford.
Fans were gearing up for the big game all during the day Monday.
Lucky enough to have tickets, Jerrod Bibeau flew in from Alberta to experience something he never thought would happen again. He’s stocking up on Jets clothing beforehand.
"Pretty excited, choking up a bit right now, actually, to be honest,” said Bibeau.
Restaurants and pubs downtown were filling up early Monday.
Darren Malak was holding seats for friends. He didn’t mind the wait.
"Not at all. Not after 19 years,” said Malak.
Despite being down two nothing in the playoff series, fans said the whiteout will carry the team to victory.
Shirts being sold at the Jets store stress: “A storm is coming.”
It doesn’t lie. It snowed in the city on game day.
"I got off the plane this morning and walked outside and Mother Nature is on our side too,” said Bibeau.
On arena seats at the MTS Centre, the team had placed white towels for fans to wave during the game.
