There were three shootings and three serious assaults in Winnipeg early Saturday morning. On Sunday police said they had made arrests related to two of the incidents.

Man shot in Aberdeen home

At about 7 a.m. Saturday, police attended a home in the 400 block of Redwood Avenue after a 24-year-old man was shot.

Police say the man was actually injured at a home on Aberdeen Avenue and came to the Redwood home for help.

On Sunday they said they had arrested 20-year-old Shaun Garry McLean and charged him with attempted murder, assault, break-and-enter and numerous firearm offences.

He is being held at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.

Arlington bar brawl

Saturday morning police arrested a 34-year-old man after an early morning assault at a bar in the 1100 block of Arlington Street.

Three men ages 23, 29, and 52 had been attacked.

Police say one of the men was injured with a broken glass bottle.

On Sunday police identified the 34-year-old suspect as William Gary Pangman of Winnipeg.

He is charged with several assault and weapons offences. He is being held at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.

Police said further investigation had also led them to arrest a second suspect.

A 29-year-old Winnipeg man was charged with several counts of assault.

He was released on a promise to appear.
