Winnipeg may be changing the rules surrounding backyard fire pits.
The city's protection committee will consider studying how other municipalities regulate open-air pits.
A motion to do so is set to be heard Monday.
Right now no permit is needed to have a fire pit in a Winnipeg residential area.
The pit must be enclosed on all sides and made of non-combustible materials.
