Brandon residents spent the week eating, playing, and celebrating farming culture at the 107th Royal Manitoba Winter Fair.

The event happens every year in Brandon. This year’s fair set a new attendance record with an estimated 108,866 people.

The week started with the Western Breakfast, which raised 700 pounds (317 kilograms) of food for Samaritan House. Crowd favourites The Super Dogs also put on their usual show of tricks.

Other major events included horse show jumping competitions in the evenings. Other popular attractions included the Royal Farm Yard, Thru the Farm Gate and the Royal Petting Zoo, which allowed attendees to get a close-up view of farm life.

The fair also featured entertainment from the likes of pop singer Amanda Stott, children’s singer Fred Penner, and magician Ted Outerbridge.
