City extends curbside yard waste pickup

The City of Winnipeg is extending the curbside yard waste pickup for two weeks, until November 28, weather permitting.

Yard waste is collected every two weeks, on the same day aa garbage and recycling.

Residents can put their yard waste in:

• Any reusable container without a lid (e.g. plastic tubs, old blue boxes, old metal or plastic garbage containers)

• Cardboard boxes

• Paper yard waste bags

Plastic bags are not accepted because they do not break down and will ruin the compost.

Residents should put their yard waste out on the curb beside recycling and garbage bins, with an arm’s length between the containers.
