A push is on to develop surface parking lots in Winnipeg’s downtown.
A city committee is set to discuss a new tax incentive for developers to build rental units and parkades on surface parking lots.
The program that involves the province would cost the city $12.7 million.
A report says the funding would cover a maximum 750 apartments with a clause that 10 per cent of them must be affordable housing.
The committee voted in favour in the plan Thursday.
