The city is suspending its adult nuisance mosquito programming program after trap counts dropped.
The average city-wide adult mosquito trap count was three on Saturday and trap counts for all quadrants are well below 100. City officials said mosquito fogging is ineffective when numbers are so low because the bugs have to be in the air for them to come into contact with the pesticide.
Weather conditions Friday night prevented fogging crews from getting out.
Fogging will resume when trap counts in one or more quadrants are within the range of 100. Larviciding and residual treatments are continuing.
