Two people are facing charges after a bizarre string of vehicle thefts near Kenora.
Ontario police said they received a complaint Monday at around 10 a.m. of a traffic incident on Highway 71 south of Kenora. Police found the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop.
The vehicle kept moving, but was later found in the driveway of a home in the Longbow Lake area.
Police said a male suspect left the car, leaving a woman and two small kids still inside. Officials said they determined the car was stolen and while police were still on scene with that vehicle, the suspect stole a pick-up truck and fled.
Police said the man and woman know one another.
Officials said the man eventually abandoned the truck and stole another car in Kenora. He was found in Manitoba later that night and was arrested by Lac du Bonnet RCMP.
Chantal Lavigne, 29, from Kenora, has been charged with two separate charges of possession of property obtained by crime.
David Burling, 21, from Manitoba, faces a number of charges including possession of property obtained by crime, dangerous driving and theft of a motor vehicle.
An investigation is ongoing.
