The search for missing 17-year-old, Cooper Nemeth has ended on the same night a heavy police presence filled Winnipeg's Valley Gardens neighbourhood.

Multiple police cars and a tactical unit could be seen focusing an investigation at a home on Bayne Cres. near Tu-Pelo Avenue Saturday night.

Police were on scene around 9:45 p.m. and stayed in the area overnight.

The Winnipeg Police Service wouldn't confirm if the presence was in relation to missing teen Cooper Nemeth.

Nemeth was last seen in the Valley Gardens area February 14.

Shortly after midnight, his family called off a search for the 17-year-old.

In a tweet, his uncle stated, "There will be no search tomorrow. There will be a release from the family in the next few days."

A large group of family and friends gathered at the Gateway Recreation Centre, the hub where searchers had met over the past few days before heading out to look for any signs of Nemeth.

The venue's parking lot remained full of vehicles around 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

A somber group of people told media it was a private event.

Neither police nor family have publically confirmed the body of Cooper Nemeth has been found.

This is a developing story, CTV will update with details as they become available.
