Fire crews said a blaze at the city's Munroe Library is suspicious. The fire happened in the library's foyer around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Services were notified of the blaze by an automatic alarm.
Crews saw smoke upon arrival. They broke down the doors and put the fire out.
Officials said no one was at the library when the flames began.
Fire crews said the blaze was contained to the main entrance.
The damage is estimated to be around $20,000.
The arson unit is investigating.
