A forest fire burning near Flin Flon has drawn in fire crews from neighbouring municipalities and Saskatchewan.
A provincial government spokesperson said the Fire Program of Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship is working with forest fire crews from Saskatchewan and other municipal fire departments. The fire covers approximately 45 to 50 hectares between Flin Flon and Creighton, Saskatchewan.
No one has been evacuated and the fire has not destroyed any major property, the spokesperson said. Water bombers from Saskatchewan have provided significant assistance.
A resident who contacted CTV said fire trucks from Flin Flon, Creighton and Hudbay Minerals, along with a helicopter, attempted to fight the fire until water bombers arrived. She also said strong winds have hindered the firefighting efforts.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
