It was a big day for staff and students at Gordon Bell High School as their new green space opened following years of lobbying and fundraising.
Students helped cut the ribbon on the new field Monday morning.
The old parking lot land was turned over to the school division after it was sold to the province by Canada Post in 2009.
The new field is at the corner of Portage and Broadway.
