Officials with IKEA announced Wednesday that the company is looking to recruit hundreds of workers for its newest store, set to open in Winnipeg later this year.

Officials said IKEA will be hiring for 300 positions.

"We are happy to be in a position to develop exciting new employment opportunities in the Winnipeg market," said Stephen Bobko, store manager of IKEA Winnipeg, in a press release.

The company said more information for candidates would be available in the careers section on its website.

The IKEA store is slated to be up and running in late 2012.
